Angsty romance + steamy sex + love triangle.

I had trouble sympathizing with Laurel (the main female lead) in this second book. The way she continuously pines for a man who puts his personal quest above all else (e.g. her well being) and perpetually forgives his transgressions (like some serious hate sex or the fact that he just up and disappeared for weeks) had me questioning whether I could root for her. I can’t really root for Laurel and Isaac either because she’s not really into him. She’s leading him on for the sake of comfort.

It was tough to connect for me on this one.
